Origin Story

When we (the founders) recruited for investment banking internships as sophomores, we discovered the many obstacles that face undergrads at non-core (i.e., colleges without a pipeline) schools. This included a general lack of knowledge on campus regarding the industry and the nuances of the recruiting process, sparse recruiting opportunities, and few alumni in the field. This required the founders, and those who came before us, to drink from the firehose and pursue opportunities in a more fragmented and piecemeal way, compared to the seamless processes that exist at core schools. Eager to bridge this gap, we began the Claremont Investment Banking Club in the fall of 2021!

Together we built a cohort of undergrads dedicated to learning about finance and putting in the work to be successful. With this group of students, we hold weekly meetings based on a tailored syllabus of valuation, accounting, interviewing, and networking content. Additionally, the club members receive bespoke mentoring and access to school-specific recruiting opportunities.

We have since passed club leadership down to the next class but our mission remains the same: establish an organized framework for investment banking recruitment at the Colleges, and an ecosystem of both students and alumni dedicated to helping one another and growing our footprint in finance.
